Ingredients

For the Pizza Base
  • 1 lb pizza dough Store-bought or homemade.
For the Sauce and Cheese
  • 1 cup pizza sauce Rich and slightly tangy.
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese Creamy and melt-in-your-mouth.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese For a salty, granular finish.
For Toppings
  • 1 cup assorted toppings Use colorful peppers, fresh olives, or halal pepperoni.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil For brushing the crust.
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning Optional, for an herbal note.
  • few leaves fresh basil For garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven now to heat thoroughly.
  2. On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large circle, approximately 12-14 inches in diameter.
  3. Using a small round object, lightly press into the center of the dough to create a ring shape.
  4. Spread pizza sauce generously over the outer ring, leaving the center empty.
Assembly
  1. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
  2. Arrange your assorted toppings across the cheese.
Baking
  1. Carefully transfer the decorated pizza to the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.
  2. Once out of the oven, let it cool for a couple of minutes and brush the outer crust with olive oil.
  3. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning over the crust and garnish with fresh basil.
  4. Cut into slices and serve warm.

Notes

Common mistakes include overloading the pizza with toppings, failing to preheat the oven, and cutting the pizza too soon. For a lighter version, consider whole wheat or gluten-free dough, or even a breakfast version with eggs and greens.
