  • 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce Sweet, sticky, and packed with flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil Adds a nutty flavor and aromatic depth.
For the Rice and Toppings
  • 2 cups cooked sushi rice Soft and slightly sticky, holds the layers together.
  • 1 ripe avocado sliced Adds a creamy and fresh touch.
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar Enhances the sushi rice with a tangy flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce Intensifies the taste of the rice.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds Toasted for garnish, adds crunch.
  • 2 green onions, chopped Adds color and mild onion flavor.

Method

Marinating the Beef
  1. Place the thinly sliced beef sirloin in a bowl and pour teriyaki sauce over it, ensuring all pieces are coated evenly. Allow to marinate for 20 minutes.
Cooking the Beef
  1. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the marinated beef and cook for about 5-7 minutes until fully cooked through and caramelized.
Seasoning the Rice
  1. In a separate bowl, combine cooked sushi rice with rice vinegar and soy sauce. Stir gently to incorporate the flavors without breaking the grains.
Assembling the Stack
  1. Using a round mold or small bowl, add a layer of seasoned rice at the bottom, then layer cooked beef and fresh avocado slices. Repeat the layers for a fuller stack.
Garnishing and Serving
  1. Remove the mold or bowl. Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Garnish with nori sheets if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use high-quality beef for better flavor. Adjust the teriyaki sauce quantity to your liking. Don’t rush the marination process and feel free to add vegetables or experiment with garnishes.
