Ingredients
Method
Make the Ice Cream Base
- Pour 2 cups of heavy cream and 1 cup of whole milk into a medium saucepan. Add 3/4 cup of granulated sugar and 1/2 tsp of salt. Cut the vanilla bean lengthwise, scrape out seeds, and add to the mixture together with the pod. Cook over medium heat until sugar dissolves, then remove from heat and let steep for 10 minutes.
- Remove the vanilla pod and let the mixture cool. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Prepare the Strawberry Swirl
- Blend 1 1/2 cups of fresh strawberries, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, and 1 tbsp of lemon juice until smooth or slightly chunky. Set aside.
Churn the Ice Cream
- Pour the chilled ice cream base into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches soft-serve consistency.
Swirl in the Strawberry Mixture
- Transfer half of the ice cream to a container, spoon strawberry swirl on top, followed by remaining ice cream. Gently swirl using a knife or spoon to create marbling.
Freeze and Enjoy
- Seal the container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until fully set. Scoop and enjoy the delightful flavors.
Notes
Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor. If you prefer a dairy-free version, substitute heavy cream with coconut cream. Don't forget to properly chill your mixture for best results.
