Ingredients
Method
Preparation of Ice Cream Base
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of heavy cream, 1 cup of whole milk, 3/4 cup of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Whisk gently until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Churning Ice Cream
- Pour the creamy mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, about 20-25 minutes.
Preparing Strawberry Swirl
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 1/2 cups of hulled and mashed strawberries, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Stir gently until the strawberries break down, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
Combining and Freezing
- Once the ice cream has finished churning, transfer it to an airtight container and drizzle the cooled strawberry swirl over the top. Use a spoon or spatula to create a marbled effect.
- Seal the container and freeze the ice cream for at least 4 hours or until firm.
Serving
- Serve your Strawberry Swirl Ice Cream in cones, bowls, or alongside other desserts. Garnish with fresh berries or a sprig of mint if desired.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, consider using coconut cream and almond milk. Use fresh, ripe strawberries and avoid over-churning to maintain creamy texture.
