Cream Base

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, combine sliced strawberries with 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and lemon juice. Stir gently and let sit for about 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. Once softened, mash the strawberries with a fork or blend until pureed. Set aside.
Making the Cream Base
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, 3/4 cup of granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Fold in the prepared strawberry puree until well combined.
Churning the Ice Cream
  1. Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, about 20-25 minutes.
Freezing and Serving
  1. Transfer the churned ice cream into an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
  2. Serve in bowls, optionally garnishing with fresh strawberry slices.

For the best flavor, use fresh, ripe strawberries. Ensure your ice cream maker bowl is chilled before use and blend strawberries for a smoother texture.
