  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Provides a smooth base for flavor.
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar Adds sweetness without overpowering other flavors.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Enhances the overall richness.
  • 1/4 tsp lemon juice Adds brightness to balance the creaminess.
For the Strawberry Topping
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced Brings a refreshing flavor.
  • 2 tbsp sugar Enhances the sweetness of the strawberries.
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice Adds tartness to the strawberry mixture.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the puff pastry sheet and cut it into squares or rectangles (about 3x3 inches).
  3. In a bowl, beat together softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until smooth.
  4. Place a spoonful of the cream cheese filling in the center of each pastry square and fold the edges over the filling. Brush with beaten egg.
  5. In a small bowl, mix sliced strawberries with sugar and lemon juice, and let them sit for 10 minutes.
Baking
  1. Bake the pastries for 15-18 minutes or until golden and crisp.
  2. Once baked, spoon the strawberry mixture on top of each Danish and enjoy.

Notes

For best results, use softened cream cheese, let strawberries macerate, and avoid overcrowding the baking sheet. Preheat the oven for even results.
