Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Slice the loaf of French or Italian bread in half lengthwise.
  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over both halves.
Cooking
  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the thinly sliced steak for about 3-4 minutes, or until browned.
  2. Season the steak with salt and pepper. Sauté any optional vegetables until tender.
  3. Place the cooked steak (and any optional vegetables) evenly over the garlic buttered bread.
  4. Top with shredded cheese.
Baking
  1. Place the assembled garlic toast on a baking sheet and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  2. Remove from the oven, slice, and enjoy while hot.

Notes

For an added layer of flavor and crispiness, brush the bread with olive oil before spreading the garlic butter. Experiment with spicy cheese blends for an extra kick.
