For the Cream Cheese Layer

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9-inch round cake pan by greasing it well.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, beat the granulated sugar and softened butter together until creamy and pale.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract and sour cream.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
Cream Cheese Filling
  1. In another bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Assembling the Cake
  1. Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared pan and smooth it out.
  2. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the batter, followed by spoonfuls of raspberry jam or fresh raspberries.
  3. Gently swirl with a knife to create a marbled effect, then pour the remaining batter on top.
Streusel Topping
  1. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, flour, softened butter, and cinnamon until crumbly, and sprinkle on top of the cake batter.
Baking
  1. Place the cake in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  2. Once baked, allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.

Notes
