Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, red food coloring, vinegar, and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients; combine gently until just incorporated.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between prepared cake pans.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Frosting
