Coating Ingredients
  • 1 cup crushed cornflakes Provides a crunchy texture.
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional) Adds flavor and texture.
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour Creates a light coating.
  • 1 large egg Acts as a binder.
  • 1/2 cup milk Creates the perfect batter.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Scoop 4 generous balls of ice cream and place them onto a baking sheet. Freeze for at least 2 hours until firm.
Prepare Coatings
  1. In a bowl, mix crushed cornflakes and shredded coconut. In a separate bowl, pour the all-purpose flour. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk.
Frying
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Roll each frozen ice cream ball first in flour, dip into the egg mixture, then coat in the cornflake mixture.
  3. Fry in batches for about 15-20 seconds until golden brown, taking care not to overcrowd the pan.
  4. Transfer fried ice cream balls to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Serving
  1. Serve immediately and consider drizzling with honey or chocolate sauce.

Notes

Choose high-quality ice cream for better flavor. Freeze ice cream balls thoroughly to prevent melting while frying. Experiment with different coatings for unique flavors.
