Method
 

Preparation
  1. Begin by boiling water and cooking the instant ramen noodles according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set them aside.
Making the Sauce
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and minced ginger.
Simmering the Broth
  1. Pour chicken broth (or water) into a small saucepan and bring it to a simmer over medium heat.
Combining the Flavors
  1. Add the sauce mixture to the simmering broth. Stir well to combine all the flavors and let it simmer for about 3-4 minutes.
Thickening the Sauce (Optional)
  1. If you desire a thicker consistency, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water. Pour this mixture into the saucepan and continue simmering until the sauce thickens.
Tossing the Noodles
  1. Add the cooked ramen noodles to the saucepan, tossing everything together gently to coat the noodles in the sauce. Stir in the chili paste or sriracha if you want a spicy kick.
