Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Stir in the Coca-Cola and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Remove from heat and pour the butter and Coke mixture into the dry ingredients. Mix until combined.
Mixing
- Add the buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract to the batter. Stir until smooth.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
