Ingredients
  

For the Cake
  • 1 box Devil's Food cake mix
  • 1 box (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sour cream or buttermilk Sour cream will yield a richer flavor.
  • 3/4 cup brewed coffee Enhances the chocolate flavor.
  • 2 cups Nestlé Toll House chocolate chips For chocolate pockets in the cake.
For the Ganache
  • 1 stick salted butter
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder Use high-quality cocoa for better flavor.
  • 1/2 box powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp milk
For Garnishing
  • 1/2 cup pecan pieces Chopped, for topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the Devil's Food cake mix and the instant chocolate pudding mix.
  4. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, vegetable oil, sour cream (or buttermilk), and brewed coffee. Mix until smooth.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips carefully.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  2. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Ganache Preparation
  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in cocoa powder, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until combined.
Serving
  1. Once the cake has cooled, pour the ganache over the top and sprinkle with pecans. Let sit for 10-15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality cocoa and chocolate chips. To enhance flavors, avoid overmixing after adding wet ingredients. Variations include adding chopped nuts or citrus zest.
