Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the chicken breasts at the bottom of your crockpot, laying flat to ensure even cooking.
  2. Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix and au jus gravy mix evenly over the chicken.
  3. Place the stick of unsalted butter atop the seasoned chicken.
  4. Scatter the pepperoncini peppers over the chicken, including some juice for flavor.
Cooking
  1. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-7 hours, until the chicken is tender and shreds easily with a fork.
  2. Shred the chicken in the crockpot, mixing it into the sauce.
  3. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  4. Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or with crusty bread, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using garlic powder or onion powder. You can also use frozen chicken but extend cooking time by an hour. Add jalapeƱos for spice or mix in cream cheese for a richer sauce.
