Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
  3. Place a slice of apple at the wide end of each triangle and roll it up tightly.
  4. Arrange the rolled dumplings in the prepared baking dish.
Making the Sauce
  1. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until smooth and bubbly.
  3. Pour the sauce evenly over the dumplings.
Baking
  1. Pour the Mountain Dew soda around the edges of the dumplings.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, until golden brown and bubbling.
  3. Serve warm, drizzling some of the sauce over the top.

Notes

For a flavor twist, try different apple varieties like Honeycrisp. Add chopped nuts for crunch or experiment with spices like nutmeg. Double the sauce for more sweetness!
