Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
- Place a slice of apple at the wide end of each triangle and roll it up tightly.
- Arrange the rolled dumplings in the prepared baking dish.
Making the Sauce
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until smooth and bubbly.
- Pour the sauce evenly over the dumplings.
Baking
- Pour the Mountain Dew soda around the edges of the dumplings.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, until golden brown and bubbling.
- Serve warm, drizzling some of the sauce over the top.
Notes
For a flavor twist, try different apple varieties like Honeycrisp. Add chopped nuts for crunch or experiment with spices like nutmeg. Double the sauce for more sweetness!
