Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese.
  2. Add chopped dried cranberries and finely chopped pecans.
  3. If desired, sprinkle in chopped green onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Blend all ingredients until well combined and creamy yet thick.
  5. Shape the mixture into a ball using your hands and wrap it tightly in plastic wrap.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  7. Before serving, roll the cheese ball in additional chopped pecans.
  8. Serve on a platter with crackers or sliced baguette.

Notes

For a lighter version, use low-fat cream cheese or Greek yogurt. You can also make this vegan by using plant-based cheeses. Don't skip the chilling step to help the cheese ball hold its shape.
