Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 pieces ripe but firm bananas Choose bananas that are ripe enough to be sweet but firm enough to slice without breaking.
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or melted butter Helps the cinnamon and sugar stick to the bananas.
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar or coconut sugar Adds sweetness and enhances the flavor.
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon Gives the chips their signature flavor and warmth.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine the melted coconut oil (or butter) with sugar and ground cinnamon. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Slice the peeled bananas into even rounds about 1/8-inch thick.
  4. Gently toss the banana slices in the cinnamon-sugar mixture for even coating.
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  6. Lay the coated banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  7. Air fry the banana slices for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
  8. Remove the banana chips once crispy and golden, then let them cool for a few minutes.

Notes

For a crunchier texture, refrigerate the coated banana slices for 30 minutes before air frying. You can also experiment by adding nutmeg or vanilla extract to the cinnamon-sugar mix.
