For the ganache
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream Essential for creating the ganache.

Method
 

Prepare the Cake
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease mini cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar together until light and creamy.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well until fully combined.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
Bake
  1. Evenly divide the batter among the greased mini cake pans.
  2. Bake for 18-20 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  3. Allow to cool in the pans for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Make Ganache
  1. Heat heavy cream in a saucepan until it simmers.
  2. Pour hot cream over chocolate chips, let sit, then stir until smooth.
Assemble
  1. Drizzle ganache generously over cooled cakes.
  2. Garnish with chocolate shavings or sprinkles if desired.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for easier mixing. Sift dry ingredients to avoid lumps. Don’t overmix the batter. Optional: add a pinch of espresso powder or nuts for texture.
