Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually stir the flour mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Stir in the cocoa powder to create a smooth dough.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and chocolate chunks.
- Scoop the dough and roll it into balls. Place them on the baking sheet 2 inches apart.
Baking
- Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes until edges are set, and centers remain soft.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For best results, allow butter to soften at room temperature. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for an indulgent treat. You can add a pinch of sea salt before baking or swap chocolate types for variations.
