Ingredients

Cookie Dough Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (heat-treated) Adds structure and texture to our dough.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Provides creaminess and rich flavor.
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Gives a lovely caramel-like sweetness.
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar For a touch of classic sweetness.
  • 2 tablespoons milk Keeps the dough moist and tender.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Infuses a lovely aroma and depth of flavor.
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips Adds delightful bursts of chocolate in every bite.
Brownie Layer Ingredients
  • 1 box brownie mix (or homemade brownie mix) The foundation of our brownie bombs.
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil Helps create a fudgy brownie.
  • 2 large eggs Binds everything together.
  • 2 tablespoons water Adjusts the brownie batter consistency.
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (for rolling) A fun, chocolaty exterior finish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by grabbing a mixing bowl. Beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.
  2. Incorporate the milk and vanilla extract into the mixture, mixing well until everything is fully combined.
  3. Gradually add the heat-treated flour to the mixture, stirring until fully combined. Fold in the mini chocolate chips.
  4. Roll the cookie dough into small balls, approximately 1-inch in diameter, and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze for at least 30 minutes.
Brownie Preparation
  1. Prepare the brownie batter according to the box instructions, and preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking pan with parchment paper. Spread a thin layer of brownie batter at the bottom of the pan.
Assembling and Baking
  1. Take the cookie dough balls out of the freezer. Place one cookie dough ball into each brownie bomb. Cover with the remaining brownie batter.
  2. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the brownie portion comes out clean.
  3. Let the brownie bombs cool completely in the pan before removing.
  4. Roll each brownie bomb in mini chocolate chips to coat.

Notes

To ensure the safety of your raw cookie dough, heat-treat the flour by spreading it on a baking sheet and baking it at 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes. If time allows, chill the cookie dough for a sturdier texture.
