Preparation
  1. Beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together in a medium mixing bowl until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the instant chocolate pudding mix with cold milk. Whisk together for about 2 minutes until thickened.
  3. In another bowl, combine the heavy cream and vanilla extract. Whip until stiff peaks form.
  4. Fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until smoothly blended.
Assembly
  1. Pour the chocolate pudding mixture into the pre-made chocolate pie crust, spreading it evenly.
  2. Layer the cream cheese and whipped cream mixture over the pudding layer.
  3. Spoon the cherry pie filling on top and spread evenly.
  4. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top and dollop whipped cream around the edges. Garnish with fresh cherries.
Chilling
  1. Refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld.
