Ingredients
  

For the Pastry
  • 1 sheet puff pastry store-bought or homemade
  • 1 egg egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp milk (optional, for egg wash)
For the Filling
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into evenly sized squares. Score a border about 1/2 inch from each edge.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and sour cream. Blend until smooth.
Assembly
  1. Spoon the cream cheese mixture into the center of each pastry square and top with a spoonful of cherry pie filling.
  2. Brush the edges of the pastry with the prepared egg wash.
Baking
  1. Transfer the assembled danishes to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Let the danishes cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes
