Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and sugar. Whisk until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  2. Stir in the cherry blossom syrup and vanilla extract. Add pink food coloring if desired.
  3. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions (approximately 20-25 minutes).
  4. In the last few minutes of churning, gently mix in the chopped maraschino cherries.
  5. Transfer the churned ice cream to a container and freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer for up to two weeks. Consider substituting half of the heavy cream with coconut milk for a healthier option. You can also add different flavorings or mix-ins, such as lavender or honey.
