Cooking the Sausage
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground sausage. Break it up as it cooks, browning and cooking through for about 5-7 minutes.
- Drain any excess grease to keep the dip creamy.
Incorporating Ingredients
- Lower the heat slightly and add the softened cream cheese to the skillet, stirring continuously until fully melted and incorporated.
- Gradually mix in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, followed by the drained Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies.
- Sprinkle in the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and black pepper, stirring until all cheeses are melted and the dip is smooth.
Garnishing and Serving
- Remove the skillet from heat and, if desired, garnish with chopped parsley.
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh veggie sticks.
Notes
For varied flavors, experiment with different types of sausage or add diced jalapeƱos for a spicier kick. You can also use a slow cooker to prepare this dip.
