Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, basil, salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Spread the meat mixture evenly in your prepared baking dish, pressing down slightly to form a solid base.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
- Remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle the cheddar and Parmesan cheese over the top, then add the mixed vegetables.
- Return the casserole to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
You can add chopped bell peppers for extra crunch. Experiment with different cheeses, and consider using pre-shredded cheese for convenience. Allow the casserole to rest for a few minutes before serving.
