Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, add ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook over medium heat, allowing the beef to brown and the onion to become tender.
- Stir in tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and add shredded cheddar cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese. Stir until the cheeses are melted and thoroughly combined.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough into a log, sealing the edges tightly.
- Place the roll on a baking sheet and brush it with beaten egg.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Slice and serve warm.
Notes
Ensure the dough is at room temperature for easier handling. Don’t rush the browning process; well-cooked beef will have a better flavor and texture. Allow the filled dough to rest a few minutes before slicing to help retain its shape.
