Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, milk, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Stir well.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the prepared baking dish.
- Pour half of the creamy mixture over the first layer of potatoes.
- Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese over the potatoes.
- Repeat with the remaining sliced potatoes, followed by the rest of the cream mixture, and top with the remaining cheddar cheese and grated Parmesan.
Baking
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil, then bake for 45 minutes.
- Carefully remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Let the dish cool for a few minutes before sprinkling with fresh parsley.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream. Layer in vegetables for added nutrition.
