Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with butter or oil.
- In a medium bowl, mash the ripe banana until smooth.
- Stir in the granulated sugar and melted butter into the mashed banana.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
- Drop tablespoon-sized portions of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- The cookies are done when the edges are lightly golden and the cookies are set.
- Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
Add chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or cinnamon for extra flavor. Use very ripe bananas for maximum sweetness. Measure ingredients accurately for the best texture.
