Trifle Layers
  • 1 cup chocolate pudding Smooth and delicious; brings deep chocolatey richness.
  • 1 cup chocolate cake, crumbled Moist and tender; adds texture and acts as a base layer.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate shavings (for garnish) Elegant and inviting; adds visual intrigue.
  • to taste cocoa powder (for garnish) Dark and bitter; balances the sweetness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy.
  2. Gradually pour in the half cup of Baileys Irish Cream, mixing it into the cream cheese until well incorporated.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with the vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the whipped cream into the Baileys-cream cheese mixture until well combined.
Layering the Trifle
  1. In a trifle dish or individual serving glasses, layer the crumbled chocolate cake, followed by a layer of the Baileys-cream mixture.
  2. Add a layer of chocolate pudding on top, and repeat the layering with cake, Baileys mixture, and pudding until the top is reached.
  3. Finish with a final layer of the Baileys-cream mixture.
Garnishing
  1. Dust the top with cocoa powder and sprinkle chocolate shavings for garnish.
Chilling
  1. Refrigerate the assembled trifle for at least two hours before serving.
